Summary:

Hollywood in the late 1930s.The story circles around the ill reputed Hollywood screenwriter Pat Hobby, who is desperately looking for work. Eventually one film studio offers him a job - as assistant to the young, successful British playwright Rene Wilcox [Colin Firth].

Colin is only in a few scenes, and his Wilcox is a somewhat arrogant, upper class Brit who, once he gets the hang of it, finds screenwriting "very simple - you just get behind the camera and dream"...
