The London Film Festival is proud to launch Colin Firth's project Brightwide, a new website showcasing the best of social and political world cinema. Following a special screening of Bahman Ghobadi's powerful film, Colin Firth will be joined by a panel of major contributors from the world of music, arts, politics and human rights campaigning. The discussion will focus on how the work of politically engaged directors, such as Ghobadi, can accelerate social and political change. Brightwide will be a platform for film fans to debate the impact of political cinema, with films reviewed by high-profile, expert contributors. Site users will be encouraged to take action on the issues tackled in the films they watch, in collaboration with campaigning organisations such as Oxfam and WWF. |
The new website, www.brightwide.com will be available worldwide in February 2010.
Below Colin Firth presents it, together with Paolo de Leo and George Duffield.
