"A secret life. A deadly passion. What you don't know can kill you".

Summary:

Femme Fatale is a drama about a woman with a complicated past and an even more complicated personality. The film is set in Los Angeles avant garde art scene. Joseph Price is a botanist and painter, who fall hopelessly in love with Cynthia and they soon marry and live a seemingly happy life in the Californian hills. One morning Joseph wakes up to find that Cynthia is gone. She' s left her wedding band placed on top of a note, reading: "I don't know who you are." Joe goes to nearby Los Angeles in search of her. There he unearth some strange and puzzling facts about his missing wife.

When the film was about to be released in England, Colin said, that "if you're unlucky" you might catch him in the independent American film of uncertain merits.

Andre Guttfreund 1991 (director):

Guttfreund feels that Republic's videocassette promotion is misleading: "They're pushing it as an erotic thriller but there's nothing erotic about our movie. They're using a shot of Lisa Zane putting on her fishnet stockings, with Colin hovering in the background.

There's no such scene in the film. It's really an old-fashioned romance about unconditional love. It's Orpheus in search of Eurydice. Aren't video renters going to feel ripped off when they see it?"
